What Does the Bible have to do with Disclosure?

When God created man, He gave man dominion over the Earth, something that He did not give His spiritual creation.

“You have made him a little lower than the angels, and crowned him with glory and honor.” - Psalms 8:4–6

This verse says humans were created slightly lower than heavenly beings initially, yet still crowned with exceptional authority and dignity

This greatly angered His most beautiful angel, Lucifer. In his pride, Lucifer, who is Satan, instigated our downfall. Satan tricked Eve and Adam into eating from the forbidden tree in Eden. Upon learning this, God made mankind and also Satan a promise: 

“And I will put enmity between you and the woman,  and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.”  — Genesis 3:15 (NIV)

Here God is telling the serpent that the woman’s seed will one day crush the serpent’s head. This is the redemption promised to mankind. Also note, 'Jacob' means 'heel'. Jacob was born grasping Esau's heel. Satan striking Eve's offspring's heel, is him striking Jesus who is a descendant of Jacob. Again, all roads lead back to Jesus. 

*side note: why did Cain kill his brother, Abel? Satan knew that one day the woman’s offspring will defeat him. In Satan’s mind, the messiah, the promised seed could have been Eve’s first or second born son, Cain or Abel. By influencing Cain to kill his brother Abel, Satan thought he was stopping God’s promise of Eve’s offspring defeating him. Unfortunately for him, Adam and Eve became “fruitful and multiplied”, and Satan very well could not kill all of humanity. The promised messiah came through the line of Seth, who was the ancestor to Noah, King David and then Jesus. This leads us into the next part. Thanks to Ryan Pitterson for pointing this out!

Now let’s fast forward to the one major way Satan and the angelic rebellion tried to thwart the coming of this Messiah. Let’s therefore look at a specific chapter in the Bible: Genesis 6.

The Biblical account of Noah’s Ark that you may have heard if you attended Sunday school as a child was wrong. Or rather, it was incomplete. God sending the flood purely because of mankind’s wickedness is not quite it. To fully understand why God sent the flood, we must understand what was happening on Earth during the time of Noah.

The Corruption of Mankind

Nephilim

There are two interesting “entities” mentioned in this passage. The first is in Genesis 6:4: the Nephilim. Some translations write “giants” instead of Nephilim, because that’s what they were. The Nephilim were the mighty men of old, men of renown. They were known in other cultures of the day: to the ancient Greeks and Romans, they were the demi-gods. You may have heard some of their names: Heracles/Hercules, Perseus, Achilles, Theseus and so on. In Ireland, they were known as the Tuatha Dé Danann. Native American tribes have oral traditions of their wars with red-haired cannibalistic giants that lived in caves.

There are many more such legends and oral traditions from around the world.

The Sons of God

According to Genesis 6:4, the Sons of God fathered the Nephilim. So, who were the “Sons of God”? It’s interesting that in this passage, women were defined as “daughters of man/mankind”. If the Sons of God are some human tribe, such as the Sethites as some scholars argue, then should they not be referred to as “Sons of man” or “Sons of Seth”? The fact that they are called “Sons of God” refers to them as being of spiritual origin.

Let’s confirm scripture with scripture.

We can see from these verses that Sons of God are angelic beings, specifically, Messenger Angels.

Genesis 6

Going back to Genesis 6:

the sons of God saw that the daughters of humans were beautiful, and they married any of them they chose. - Genesis 6:2 (NIV)

And 

The Nephilim were on the earth in those days—and also afterward—when the sons of God went to the daughters of humans and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, men of renown. - Genesis 6:4 (NIV)

These fallen angelic beings were marrying and procreating with human women who then birthed the Nephilim giants. Satan and these fallen angels had the goal of corrupting the gene pool of mankind to prevent the Messiah, Jesus, from being born of a woman. If they fully corrupted the human gene pool, the Messiah could not be born of the woman’s seed. 

We know from other passages in the Bible, that angels can take on physical form. In Genesis 19, two angelic visitors arrive at Sodom and stay with Lot. The men of the city surround the house demanding access to them.

“Before they lay down, the men of the city, the men of Sodom, surrounded the house, both young and old, all the people from every quarter; and they called to Lot and said to him, ‘Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us that we may have relations with them.’”-Genesis 19:4–5  (NASB)

In a nutshell, the world in which Noah lived was a world where fallen angels were procreating with women and birthing half-human, half-angel offspring, who were the Nephilim. They were also messing with the DNA of plants and animals, but that’s a story for another time. The Nephilim were indeed exceedingly wicked, as their spirits were inherited from their fallen angelic fathers. They consumed everything, and when that was not enough, they started consuming humans. They taught mankind war, weaponry, cosmetics, alchemy, astrology, divination, etc. Remember this, as it will be important later.

The Book of Enoch

The book of Enoch is an apocryphal book found in the Dead Sea Scrolls in Qumran. The book details the entire Genesis 6 story in more detail. Though it was non-canonical except for in the Ethiopian Church, the book of Enoch was quoted in the Bible in Jude 1:14–15. I think of it as Rogue One in Star Wars, a side story to the Skywalker Saga.

Why Noah?

God wasn’t just condemning the wickedness of mankind and Nephilim. He was looking at the genetic corruption of His creation. This is the real reason for the flood. Why were Noah and his family spared? It was because Noah was perfect in his generations. Not only was Noah a righteous man, Noah had no fallen angelic DNA in his bloodline. Read Genesis 6:9 carefully:

This is the genealogy of Noah. Noah was a just man, perfect in his generations. Noah walked with God.-Genesis 6:9 NKJV

Some Bible scholars may argue that this passage actually means that Noah was blameless amongst his contemporaries (people living at the same time as him):

 These are the records of the generations of Noah. Noah was a righteous man, blameless in his generation. Noah walked with God.-Genesis 6:9 NASB

“Blameless in his generation” can either be interpreted as comparing Noah to his contemporaries, rather than be interpreted as Noah's genealogy being unblemished. If the former is true, it would simply be saying that he was the only one amongst his contemporaries to have uncorrupted DNA. The underlying Hebrew is:

אִישׁ צַדִּיק תָּמִים הָיָה בְּדֹרֹתָיו
(ish tzaddik tamim hayah b’dorotav)

Key terms:

• tzaddik = righteous

• tamim = blameless / whole / without blemish

• b’dorotav = among his generations/contemporaries

Jesus was a descendent of King David. The Bible traces Jesus’ lineage to King David, and back to Noah’s son, Shem.

Demons

When the flood wiped out the Nephilim, their physical bodies perished. However, since they inherited their spirit-type from their fallen angelic fathers, their spirits endured. The Nephilim were not of God’s original creation, and there was no redemption for them in His plan. Upon physical death, they were therefore accursed to roam the Earth. We know them today as demons.

In order to understand the phenomena, we first need to understand the characteristics of demons, as described in the Bible.

Demons know Jesus. They oppose God and mankind, but they must submit to the authority of Jesus Christ. Jesus was able to cast out demons. He also gave us the same ability to cast out demons in His name. Keep this in mind for later.

There is a famous biblical account of Jesus casting out a legion of demons from a man. You can read about this in Matthew 8:28–34, Mark 5:1–20 and Luke 8:26–39.

The demons knew who Jesus was. They knew He was the son of God. Legion entering into a herd of pigs, and running the pigs into the water to drown was not random. They were mocking God. What other instance did demons’ physical bodies die by drowning at God’s hand?
